07 Feb Petition to Stop Assisted Suicide in Hawai’i
We, the undersigned, believe suicide is never the right choice for anyone. This also applies to patients who may feel helpless and without hope and contemplating assisted suicide. Just as there is a need for awareness and suicide prevention programs, there is also a need for more programs to educate patients about other options besides assisted suicide.
Only by adopting a broad, comprehensive approach will we be able to effectively reach our goal of reducing the prevalence of suicide in our state by 25% by 2025. Ending one’s life, no matter what it may be called or renamed, is suicide, and any form of this act should be not legalized.
